  “Look at you boss man,” Brielle laughed.

  “That’s right. Come fuck with a boss. Now lets go eat because I heard your stomach growling the whole time you was quite,” Kiyan laughed.

  Brielle laughed along with him. She didn’t know how Kiyan went from ten to zero within five minutes but she was glad that she didn’t lose Kiyan over Jaiden. Shit he wasn’t even apart of her life any more.

  Chapter 11

  “You forgot the part where you ain’t shit.” -Danielle

  Cameron and Danielle’s relationship was beginning to blossom. It had been a couple months and Cam was starting to feel guilty for lying to Danielle all this time. He decided that tonight would be the night that he told Danielle his original thoughts about her and her friends. Cam was sitting in front of Danielle’s condo building trying to come up with a way to bring up the conversation. Danielle came out the building wearing a pair of dark blue Michael Kor’s skinny jeans, a yellow and brown Michael Kor’s cardigan, and a pair of brown Nine West thigh high boots. Cam thought she was cute with her little getty up outfit.

  As soon as she got in the car, she leaned over and kissed him on the cheek. She noticed his facial expression showed guilt, but she thought that maybe she reading too much into things. She had a long day, and she wasn’t going to ruin it by accusing Cam of something that he didn’t do. Cam pulled off and proceeded to the movie theater, they were going to see New Moon because Danni had practically begged him to take her to see it.

  When they got to the movie theater, Cam parked in the lot and turned the car off and looked at Danni. “Look ma, we gotta talk,” he said while sighing.

  “What’s on your mind,” Danni turned towards him.

  “I have a confession to make”

  “Confession? What type of confession?”

  “Remember when we first met?”

  “Yeah, what about it? That was months ago, why are you bringing it up now?”

  “Long story short, when all the shit went down with Kiy and Bri, I started all that because I was the one that pointed y’all out with the players.”

  “Excuse me? Come again,” Danielle, said putting her phone in her clutch.

  “Look I was wrong for just assuming shit but at the time… ” Cam started.

  “You started off thinking the worst of us, of ME!” yelled Danni interrupting him, to say she was pissed would be an understatement, but even more so she was hurt. She thought Cam was different and was really feeling him. Cam could see the hurt in her eyes and that’s what made him feel even worst.

  “Ma look calm down, true I said and thought that shit before I really got to know you and found out you were far from that. I never meant to hurt you Danielle believe me when I say that. When I saw y’all in those players faces I just assumed that’s how y’all got down.”

  “Wow Cam and all this time you been what, just stringing me along trying to get some?”

  “No, I can get some from anywhere. I never had a problem in that area. Shit that didn’t come out right at all.”

  Danni grabbed her clutch unlocked the door and was out the car before Cam had a chance to clean up his statement. While walking thru the parking lot she reached in her clutch for her phone. “I really can’t believe this, how the hell did I let myself fall for this shit,” she thought out loud stopping to call Brielle and ask her to come get her. Catching up with her, Cam grabbed her lightly by the forearm and tried turning her to face him, but she yanked her arm away. This time he grabbed both arms forcing her to look at him.

  “Look ma, I’m sorry if I hurt you in any way shape or form. That was NEVER my intention. These last few months we spent together, this shit has been eating me up knowing I thought the worst of you. I wanted to tell you so many times, but I didn’t wanna mess up what we have now.”

  “So that first night you texted me, did you think you was gonna get some? Thought I was some hit it and quit it, ” asked Danni. She don’t know why this shit was getting to her; then again she did, she was in love and right now at this very moment her heart was being broken by the one man she thought would change her way of thinking about men.

  “Danni look if I could go back and change shit I would, but I can’t. I was use to women coming around just because they thought they could get something out of me. I’m man enough to admit to you right here, right now today in a movie parking lot that I was wrong and I’m sorry,” Cam knew he fucked up, but he was willing to do anything to fix it. Danni wasn’t like most women at all, she was a damn fireball and he loved that about her.

  “You forgot the part where you ain’t shit,” she said as she cracked a smile.

  “I never said I was though,” laughed Cam.

  “So how do you feel about me now?”

  “I think that you are the most stubborn, shit talking, outspoken, beautiful, independent, intelligent woman I have ever met.”

  “I am not…”

  “Buuut, those are all the reasons I love you and wouldn’t change you if I could” smiled Cam with that gorgeous smile Danielle had come to love so much.

  “Love like you just love who I am?”

  “No as in, I love you, Danielle.”

  “Oh that love, well your not too bad yourself,” laughed Danni.

  “Oh it’s like that, oka… ” Before he could get any more words out, their lips where interlocked together like they were exploring new territory with their tongues. This was something neither had ever experienced before. Neither one of them wanted to stop, but they had to come up for air at some point. Danni was the first one to let go.

  “Wow, I love you too Cameron.” For a minute they stood there staring at each other both ready to start over.

  “So you still wanna go see the movie?”

  “Hell yeah, I had to beg you to take me, there is no way in hell I’m leaving without watching it. So let’s go before it starts.”

  Any other time Cam would have said something slick, but he had to make up his fuck ups to her someway so he was willing to let her have this one. He was really starting to see forever with Danielle and he was willing to do anything in his power to see that it happens.

  ~~~~~
  The girls were having lunch when they noticed that nobody had spoken to Sabriya in a couple of days. Danielle decided since they were all together that should just call and check up on her. The last time they spoke her and Keem were in Miami on vacation. Danielle put the phone on speaker as she waited for Sabriya to answer the phone.
  “Hey girl,” Sabriya answered.
  “Hey Mamas, how are you, Danielle asked, all of the girls are here.”
  “Hey chica,” Shanice chimed in.
  “Hey Briya,” Brielle and Chloe said at the same time.
  “Hey ladies, I’m glad you all are together. I have something to tell y’all,” she squealed.
  “What are you so excited to tell us?”
  “So, Keem and I were on a boat ride here and we found this little secluded beach, that would be perfect for the wedding.”
  “Awww, so when do we start planning,” Shanice asked.
  “Well about that, we kind of already got married,” Sabriya confessed.
  “WHAT,” all the girls screamed.
  “We got married, we decided that we didn’t want the whole big wedding ceremony. We wanted it to be private and then we will do just a huge reception for our family and friends.”
  “Wow. I don’t know if I want to congratulate you first or curse you out a little bit,” Shanice spoke up first.
  “Don’t be mad ladies. I know we were suppose to do the whole outdoor wedding thing, but the way that Keem’s schedule is for next season it just wouldn’t have worked out and we didn’t have to worry about paparazzi going crazy to try to get information about the wedding,” Sabriya said.
  “Well Briya, we are so happy for you,” Brielle screamed with excitement.
  “Thank you ladies, I promise I will let Sha throw the biggest wedding reception ever. No restrictions at
all,” Sabriya offered.
  “Oh yes, I can’t wait to start planning this because we got a lot to make up for since we didn’t get to see your vows.”
  “Again we are so sorry, hold on Keem wants to talk to y’all.”
  “Wassup y’all,” Keem came to the phone.
  “Nope, we’re not talking to you. I thought you loved your sisters,” Brielle joked.
  “Ahhh man. You know I love y’all. I just love Sabriya too much to wait. I told Briya that if we would have had the huge wedding, we would have had to go through hell trying to get the paparazzi out of it,” Keem started to explain.
  “Aww, we’re just playing. We know we have a huge celebrity on our hands. But seriously, we are happy for both you and Sabriya. I know y’all had it taped, so just be prepared to show everyone at the wedding reception. Oh yeah, and make sure your card is ready for the charges coming your way. This will be big,” Shanice laughed.
  “Knowing you, I already know. But I’m going to have Briya call you back. We’re about to go scuba diving.” Keem laughed as well.
  “Okay, we love y’all.” The girls said together.
  “We love y’all more,” Keem said hanging up.
  Shanice hung up the phone, looked at the rest of the girls, smiled, and screamed, “OMG Sabriya got married.”
  Brielle just laughed at Shanice. She thought Shanice was more excited than Sabriya and Hakeem. She was happy for her two friends because she thought they deserved love and each other. She just couldn’t help, but to feel sad because she would never have that.
  Chapter 12
  “Relationship? No it’s just a date.” -Brielle
  It was seven o’clock in the morning and Brielle was at the gym when she constantly felt someone staring at her. She continued running on the treadmill thinking that maybe she was just being paranoid. As she wiped the sweat off her forehead, she began to work on her cool down. She had been there for three hours today, and she was almost ready to leave.
  Just as Brielle was getting off the treadmill, she was approached by a medium built, dark skinned man. He had deep waves and killer biceps, reminding her of a younger Idris Elba.
  “Hello beautiful,” the handsome stranger said.
  “Hi,” Brielle said drinking water and fixing her ponytail.
  “Can I ask your name,” he asked.
  “Nope, but you can offer yours,” Brielle said seriously.
  “Wow. You’re serious. The name is Kristopher. Kristopher Johnson.”
  “Hello Kristopher,” Brielle said offering him her hand.
  “I just wanted to come over and tell you that I’ve seen you here plenty of times before, but I never had the courage to come over here and actually speak to such a beautiful lady as yourself.”
  “Flattering. The name is Brielle.”
  “I finally get to put a name to the pretty face.”
  “I guess so,” Brielle smiled.
  “So Brielle, what do you do for a living?”
  “I’m an image consultant. What about you, what is it that you do?”
  “I’m an investment banker for MC & Bankers,” Kris offered.
  “That’s great. So you come here often? I never seen you around here,” Brielle asked.
  “Yes, I’m a regular here. I’ve seen you in here a couple of times.”
  “Oh cool. So, I’ll see you next time,” Brielle said about to walk off.
  “Wait, can I ask you something,” Kris blurted out.
  “Sure, I’m listening.”
  “I think you’re beautiful. I think you would be a great person to get to know. Would you mind going out with me?” A nervous Kris asked.
  “Uh. I just met you and you’re a stranger. So going out with you is not really the first thing I would agree to,” Brielle said honestly.
  “Strangers are just friends you haven’t met yet. Can you take the chance to get to know me?”
  Brielle thought about it. She didn’t really know Kris, but he was different from all of the other guys she dated. Murder was a street dude. She dated the pretty boy type. That didn’t work out. Even though she didn’t go further than one date, Kiyan was an industry mixed with street dude. She was willing to give Kris a chance. You can’t find Mr. Right until you dated and dumped Mr. Wrong.
  “Okay. Sure I will go out with you,” Brielle smiled.
  “Great. When are you free tomorrow night?”
  “Actually, I’m not. I’m going to a basketball game with my friend.”
  “How about Saturday night?”
  “I’m not sure, are you free tonight?”
  “Yes, I’m free. So where would you like to go?”
  “You can surprise me. Don’t go overboard.”
  “Okay. I can do simple. So we should exchange numbers, so I can let you know exact plans and exact times.”
  “Cool, put your number in my phone and I’ll do the same,” Brielle said while grabbing her phone out of her gym bag and handing it to Kris. The two exchanged numbers and gave the phones back.
  “So, I’ll speak to you later. I have to go home and get ready for work,” Brielle offered.
  “Okay great, I will call you later.” Kris smiled.
  Kristopher couldn’t believe his luck. Before today trying to speak to the beautiful Brielle was just a thought far in the back of his mind. He was glad that she agreed to an early dinner date later in the day. He had been watching her over the past couple of weeks since he joined the gym. She would come in every week mostly on Monday’s, Friday’s, and Saturday’s but sometime she would squeeze in a session on Thursday mornings like today. She always wore different color Nike yoga pants and Nike sports bras. She normally would work with a personal trainer for the first hour and a half. Then she would run on the treadmill for the last forty-five minutes.
  He was excited for their date. Since she didn’t want to do anything fancy, he thought that maybe a simple date to the Masina Trattoria restaurant in Weehawken. The restaurant overlooked the Hudson River waterfront and it was nice to go when you’re trying to get to know someone.
  ~~~~~

  Brielle wasn’t really interested in being in another failed relationship, but she didn’t object to having dinner with a cute investment banker. She thought to herself, maybe if she dated a businessman her luck with relationships would change. Brielle figured she should inform the girls on her date for the night but before she had a chance, Keyshia was barging in the office.

  “Oh my God, have you heard the latest on the street,” Keyshia said loudly.

  “Girl, I don’t hear nothing on the street, but I guess you’re going to fill me in huh?” Brielle responded sarcastically.

  “Well Ms. Bri word on the street is that Jaiden is walking around town with a new girl,” Keyshia smiled.

  “Keysh, I don’t really care. Whatever Jaiden does, is Jaiden’s problem,” Brielle said seriously.

  “Oh well, I was just letting you know because you know you’re my girl and I will do just about anything for you. I just had to let you know they said oh girl is just as pretty as you if not more. However, I doubt that because most people never seen you around Jaiden and don’t even know how you look. Shit, you’re one of the prettiest woman I know so it can’t be true,” Keyshia said going on and on.

  “Thank you for the compliment Keyshia and you’re right. These are just rumors. However, I am definitely not interested or worried about Jaiden or none of his chicks,” Brielle said to her assistant.

  “Oh really? That must mean you have moved on with that fine ass Kiyan,” Keyshia smiled while being nosey.

  “Nope, Kiyan and I are just friends. Nothing more, nothing less.”

  “Friends? Well shit I need to find a friend that brings me lunch twice a week, and make sure he calls and check up on you at least once a day,” Keyshia said jealously.

  “We are only friends. Besides, if we weren’t just friends I wouldn’t be going on a date tonight with another man would I,” Brielle said trying to shut Keyshia up.

  “Another man? How does he look? Where did you meet him? Is he as fine as Kiyan or Jaiden? Does he have a legit job? What kind of car does he drive and does he have a brother? Hook your girl up,” Keyshia said all in one breath.

  “Keyshia, girl will you breathe. Sheesh. He’s just some guy I met at my gym. He asked me out, I said yes. Simple as that,” Brielle said.

  “Well that’s good that you have finally decided to be in a relationship again.”

  “Relationship? No it’s just a date. We’ll see where this goes. I’m going to take this slow. Not rush into anything like I tried with Kiyan,” Brielle said reminding herself of her past failures in dating.

  “Well you know I’m here to talk if you need me,” Keyshia said.

  “Yes I know, you’re like my personal diary. I tell you every damn thing,” Brielle smiled at her assistant.

  “That’s what a friend is suppose to do. You talk and I listen and if I hear something that’s not right, I let you know,” Keyshia stood up to hug Brielle.

  “You right, but friend I think it’s time to get back to work,” Brielle said as the office phone rung.

  “You’re right. Oh by the way, since you and Kiyan are just friends, tell him I think he’s cute and maybe we can go far,” Keyshia winked.

  “Go far? And that’s beyond my control. You like him, you tell him,” Brielle said.

  “Next time I see him, I will,” Keyshia said walking out the office.

  Brielle remembered a conversation that she had with Kiyan and she knew Keyshia wouldn’t get far. Keyshia was way too promiscuous for Kiyan; he wouldn’t even look her way. But if Keyshia was willing to try, then Brielle was willing to watch it all play out.

  Chapter 13

  “Well, I’m here to prove you wrong. I mean if you would give me the chance.”

  -Kris

  Brielle decided that she would leave work early and go get some lunch and get her nails done. It was Thursday so her usual nail salon shouldn’t be crowded if the kids were at school and most people were still at home. She had almost a twenty-five minute drive from Secaucus to Newark.
